 Use 3/16" to 1/4" nylon rope with 11-18" in between the balls (unlike what the below states). The patented Ladder Golf Game uses 11" and 1/4" rope in between their golf balls, which makes it more challenging, but cancels the chances of getting a double ringer.

Own 2 sets. Make one, then buy a "quality" one! There is a difference in play.
